Perfect for Any Season: Get Veneers Patients Love

Posted on: May 20, 2016

VeneersYou can transform your smile by using veneers patients love to wear. If you don’t like how your smile looks, you can change it. Thanks to modern dentistry, no one is stuck with their natural smile. Instead, you can use cosmetic dentistry procedures to correct damage and address anything that you want to change.

One of the most common things that patients want to correct is the color of their teeth. Another common complaint is gaps in between teeth. We can address both by using dental veneers. They are a thin shell that looks like a natural tooth front. They are placed directly on top of your natural teeth and can accomplish a variety of things such as:

  • Closing gaps
  • Covering dark stains
  • Correcting damage like chips or cracks
  • Straightening certain teeth
  • Making teeth the same size or length

We recommend that you schedule a consultation to discuss what you don’t like about your smile so that we can create a customized treatment plan to address those issues. We offer veneers patients depend on and have perfected our process so that they can accomplish the goals that our patients have for their smile.

In order to get started, we will take an impression of your teeth. Since veneers go on top of your natural teeth, this is important for ensuring that they are created in the right size, shape, and shade. Using our directions, the dental lab will create a permanent set that can be bonded to your teeth.

While the lab is creating them, we will prepare your teeth by removing around a millimeter of the enamel from their surface. By doing so, they will lay flat and won’t stand out. Once the enamel is removed, your teeth will feel sensitive. We will provide sedation during the procedure so that you won’t feel anything, and afterward, we recommend taking some oral pain medication. We will also secure a temporary set of veneers to the surface of your teeth in order to protect them. This is done with removable glue so be careful not to eat anything hard or brush too aggressively as this can make them fall off.

After the dental lab is finished, we will have you come back in to get the temporary set removed, and the permanent ones attached to your teeth. We will first loosely secure them so that you can see what they will look like. This way you can request any adjustments if you see something that you don’t like. Once you, and we, are satisfied with their appearance they will be bonded to your teeth.

After the process of getting veneers patients typically feel sore for a couple of days. During this time, eat soft foods and take some oral pain relief. In short order, you will feel better and can start to enjoy your new smile. Veneers are incredibly durable so you will be able to eat all of your favorite foods and smile brightly.
