Karen - Office Manager
Karen is from Wilmington, NC. She received her degree in Fine Arts from The University of North Carolina at Wilmington and worked for many years in graphic design and marketing. She joined the practice in 1990 and has been instrumental in making the transition of the practices smooth. She enjoys problem solving and keeping the business office organized. Karen and her husband have two Labrador retrievers and enjoy frequent trips to Wrightsville Beach where they enjoy boating.
Delaina - Office Administrator
Delaina graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from The University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 2002. She joined the practice in July of 2009 with over 7 years dental office experience. Delaina truly enjoys the business aspect of dentistry and helping patients improve their dental health. Delaina and her husband, Todd, have a son and a daughter.
Melissa - Dental Assistant
Melissa received her training at Penn Foster Career School in 2006. Shortly after her completion of the Dental Assisting Program she joined our office. Melissa is a jack-of-all-trades in the dental office and can serve as a resource in both the business side of dentistry with insurance questions as well a valuable clinical resource. Melissa has a special interest in cosmetic dentistry and performs the ZOOM! in-office whitening procedure in our office. Melissa lives in Greensboro with her husband, daughter and son.
Annie - Dental Assistant
Annie fulfills a variety of roles in our practice since joining us in 2008. You may find her assisting our clinical staff as well as our office administrators. She will graduate magna cum laude from Salem College in Winston-Salem in May of 2010 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and plans to attend dental school in 2011. Although her busy academic schedule allows little free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and her Bichon Frise, Louis.
Kim - Dental Hygienist
Kim received her Bachelor of Science degree in Dental Hygiene from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2001 and joined the practice soon after graduation. She chose a career in dental hygiene because it enables her to combine her interests of educating patients and working in health care. Kim loves what she does, and it is evident in her patient care. Kim lives in Asheboro with her husband Tony, who is a fire inspector for the city of Asheboro. Together they have two children.
Kelly - Dental Hygenist
Kelly received both her degree in Dental Hygiene and Dental Assisting from Guilford Technical Community College, where she graduated with highest honors. Kelly joined the practice in 2002 as a dental assistant for Dr. Civils and returned as a Dental Hygienist. She has also studied social work at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She and her husband, Shane, a Physician Assistant in Greensboro, enjoy traveling and have a dog, Sydney. She is an excellent resource for our patients having been both assistant and hygienist in this practice.
